Humankind Studio was named for our human-centered approach to design thinking, and the kindness that guides our client relationships.
The words "human" and "kind" illustrate how we work. The name Humankind says why we do it: not just to create good work, but to create real change.
ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
An award-winning designer and art director, Julia is the Founder & CCO of Humankind. Guiding every aspect of the business, she creates bold identities and memorable campaigns for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies and national non-profits to beloved local businesses. In addition to running the studio, Julia teaches as an adjunct faculty member at Corcoran School of Art - The George Washington University.
Before starting Humankind, Julia earned an MFA from SVA and worked at Design Army, Penguin Books, Spot Co and The New York Times Company. When she is not at work you can find her thinking of new ways to treat her fellow breast cancer survivors with greater dignity or on an adventure with her tiny but mighty family.
